Walks to Hampsfell from the station or from town
Distance 5 kilometres (3 miles)
I have produced a page all about the Hospice, which you might like to read before going up there.
- This leaflet has been produced by Cumbria County Council and describes a walk a little over 3 miles (5 kilometres) in length which offers a good introduction to walking in the area. The first section is on tough terrain, uphill, through woodland and on limestone pavement so walking boots are strongly recommended. The rewards are well worth it - the summit provides wonderful views to the Lakeland Fells, the Howgills and across Morecambe Bay. Click here to download the pdf leaflet.
- This walk is produced by the Town Council and starts from the town centre - shorter. Click here to download.
- Another leaflet with photos can be downloaded for £1 from Discovery Walks
